Missing St. Louis woman’s body found in Olympic National Park; investigation continues as family confirms death

What is confirmed
A St. Louis woman who was reported missing after traveling alone to Washington state has been found dead in Olympic National Park, her family has confirmed. The death follows a weeks-long search and an ongoing investigation that authorities have said remains active.
The woman, 26-year-old Alleacya “Angel” Boulia of St. Louis, was last seen in Port Angeles, Washington, on Nov. 17, 2025. She was reported missing on Nov. 27, 2025, after family members could not reach her. Her rented vehicle—a black 2025 Ford Bronco Sport—was located on Nov. 30, 2025, at the Sol Duc Trailhead inside Olympic National Park, triggering an immediate response by park rangers and multiple search-and-rescue partners.
Timeline leading to the search
Authorities have publicly identified Nov. 17 as Boulia’s last confirmed sighting in Port Angeles. Officials said she was reported missing Nov. 27 and that her rental vehicle was found Nov. 30 at the Sol Duc Trailhead, a popular access point in the Sol Duc Valley area of the park.
Search activity in the Sol Duc Valley expanded quickly after the vehicle was found. By mid-December, officials stated that field operations had covered trails and areas that could be linked to her whereabouts.
How the search was conducted
Officials described a broad set of tactics used during the effort, including aerial and ground components and specialized teams. Search work included drones, dog teams, snorkel surveys, technical rope operations and ground teams. Authorities also said weather and terrain created periods when operations could not proceed safely.
On Dec. 17, 2025, Olympic National Park announced that the search had shifted into a “clue-responsive, limited continuous phase,” meaning teams would return in response to new information or developments while the investigation continued.
- Last confirmed sighting: Nov. 17, 2025 (Port Angeles, Washington)
- Missing person report: Nov. 27, 2025
- Vehicle located: Nov. 30, 2025 (Sol Duc Trailhead, Olympic National Park)
- Search status shift: Dec. 17, 2025 (clue-responsive phase)
What remains unknown
Authorities have not publicly released a detailed account of where in the park Boulia was found or the cause and manner of death, and no public finding has been announced that would explain what happened between her last confirmed sighting and the recovery. Officials have previously emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.
Olympic National Park previously said its investigation remained active as search operations moved to a clue-driven phase.
Context: terrain and safety risks
The Sol Duc area draws visitors to trails and waterways, including routes that pass near swift water and steep terrain. In separate incidents, the park has periodically closed areas to facilitate recovery operations after fatal falls, underscoring the hazards that can exist in winter conditions and around waterfalls and river corridors.
As the investigation continues, officials have urged anyone with potentially relevant information about Boulia’s movements during the period surrounding mid-November 2025 to come forward through appropriate law-enforcement channels.
