Fatal motorcycle crash shuts down Shackelford Road segment in north St. Louis County during investigation

A fatal traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle closed a stretch of Shackelford Road in north St. Louis County on Friday, March 6, 2026, prompting an on-scene investigation and extended traffic restrictions.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Shackelford Road and Kilmory Drive, within the St. Louis County Police Department’s North County Precinct area. Police said officers were dispatched at about 2:20 p.m. for a reported collision at the intersection.

Investigators said the motorcycle operator—described as an adult man—was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities had not released the victim’s name by Friday evening, pending notification steps.
