Official City Roundup for Wednesday, February 11, 2026

The City of St. Louis has released several critical updates for Wednesday, February 11, 2026, regarding legislative sessions, public health, and urban infrastructure. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review these official notices to stay informed on local governance and safety measures currently in effect across the metropolitan area.

Legislative and Public Meetings

Two key Board of Aldermen committees are scheduled to convene today. The Budget and Public Employees Committee will meet at 10:00 AM to discuss legislative matters and preliminary budget allocations. Later this afternoon, the Public Infrastructure and Utilities Committee will host its scheduled meeting at 3:30 PM. Additionally, the St. Louis Planning Commission is holding a public session at City Hall (1200 Market Street) to review draft agendas and neighborhood planning initiatives.

Meeting Cancellations

Public officials have announced that two previously scheduled meetings for February 11 have been canceled. The Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Commission Board Meeting, originally set for 8:30 AM via Zoom, will not take place. Furthermore, the Clean Energy Development Board has canceled its quarterly board meeting, which was slated for 3:00 PM. Any business items intended for these sessions are expected to be rescheduled for a future date.

Public Health Advisory: Influenza Activity

The City of St. Louis Department of Health has issued an active advisory due to a significant spike in Influenza A cases. Surveillance reports indicate that adults aged 25 to 49 are experiencing the highest number of infections this season. Health officials urge all residents to remain up to date with vaccinations, particularly those aged 65 and older or individuals with underlying medical conditions. To prevent further spread, the department recommends regular hand hygiene and staying home if symptoms develop.

Winter Weather State of Emergency

The State of Emergency declared by Mayor Cara Spencer remains active through February 22, 2026. This declaration was issued to provide city departments with additional tools for resource coordination and emergency contracting following severe winter weather. Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts and be prepared for potential travel advisories or temporary restrictions as the city maintains its Winter Weather Unified Command.

Infrastructure and Traffic Updates

Motorists should be aware of ongoing long-term construction projects impacting major thoroughfares. On I-55 in St. Louis City, one southbound lane remains closed from I-44 to north of Bates, with additional closures extending to Weber. The Virginia on-ramp to southbound I-55 also remains closed for reconstruction. MoDOT crews continue to perform maintenance in these work zones, and drivers are encouraged to use the Gateway Guide for real-time traffic updates and detour information.

Administrative Notice: FY27 Budget Deadline

Today marks a significant administrative milestone for city operations. All FY27 department requests are due to the Budget Division by the close of business on February 11, 2026. Following these submissions, the division will begin formal meetings with individual departments to review financial requests for the next fiscal year.
