Busy Schedule for St. Louis Board of Aldermen Committees

Tuesday, February 10, 2026, marks a significant day of legislative activity at St. Louis City Hall, with several committees of the Board of Aldermen meeting to advance key city projects. The morning session began at 9:00 a.m. with the Transportation and Commerce Committee. Meeting in the Kennedy Room, members took up Board Bill 25, a measure aimed at addressing local transit and commercial infrastructure needs.

Following the morning session, the Housing, Urban Development and Zoning (HUDZ) Committee convened at 11:00 a.m. to discuss Board Bills 128 and 147. These bills represent a continuing effort by the city to streamline residential development and manage land use as St. Louis looks to revitalize several key neighborhoods. Later this afternoon, at 2:00 p.m., the Legislation and Rules Committee will gather to review Board Bills 54 and 137, focusing on municipal code updates and procedural governance.

Focus on Urban Planning and Infrastructure RFPs

The Planning and Urban Design Agency is also hosting critical sessions today regarding the future of neighborhood development. Two major pre-submittal meetings are scheduled for Request for Proposals (RFPs):

  • Pop-Up Demonstration Activation Program: At 9:00 a.m., officials discussed a new program designed to create temporary community spaces and economic catalysts in underserved areas.
  • Neighborhood Planning Consulting Services: A 10:00 a.m. meeting focused on securing expert consulting to guide the next phase of city-wide neighborhood master planning.

Additionally, the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry is holding a selection committee meeting today at 10:00 a.m. to evaluate bids for a comprehensive Tree and Infrastructure Inventory. This project is vital for the city’s long-term environmental sustainability and the maintenance of public green spaces.

St. Louis County Council Targets Budget and Public Service

Across the city line, the St. Louis County Council is keeping a full schedule today in Clayton. The afternoon began with a 12:00 p.m. Budget Committee meeting, where council members are reviewing fiscal allocations for the upcoming quarter. The day will culminate in the Regular Council Meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 41 South Central Avenue. This evening session is expected to cover a wide range of public notices and community services, and it will be available for public viewing via live stream.

Mayor Spencer’s Administration Continues Tornado Recovery

Mayor Cara Spencer’s office provided an update this morning regarding the city’s ongoing recovery from recent storm damage. The Mayor noted that the city will continue the removal of tornado debris placed by the curb through February 28. These efforts are part of a broader recovery initiative that includes the upcoming Mayor’s Mardi Gras Ball on February 13, which will raise funds for the St. Louis Tornado Response Fund. Mayor Spencer has emphasized that restoring impacted neighborhoods remains the top priority for the executive branch this month.
